How do I run the game on Adobe Air? I've downloaded and unzipped the folder from the website, but I don't see anything to run the file with.

The process is...
1) Install Adobe Air to your computer
2) Run the FateTectonics.air file to install it afterwards


Pro-tip: don't put your game on sale on Steam for cheaper than it is on itch.io at the moment if itch.io gives you a higher revenue share

So speaking of unique game mechanic mixes, how about a world building god power open ended puzzle game? You build the world, one tile at a time and building the world properly gives it more durability, while reaching certain milestones unlocks more time for future runs. After a set time, you get to destroy the world, unlock achievements for your playthrough and then start your next run with your next goals and more time for your next run. Its cute, pocket sizes, the next achievements give a very good direction despite its open ended nature, has a unique game mechanic that reminds me a lot of boardgames like Carcassonne and a few additional modes to make your game experience cater to your preference (like an endless no destruction mode). Bought it on Steam again for the achievements, good stuff. 4/5

Unfortunately not at this time. The game was released 5 years ago and the company has been on indefinite hiatus for over 3 years now.

So a bunch of weird things happened the week after making these follow-up comments and we have in fact ressurrected the codebase and are working on a number of bug fixes and will be releasing the game as an EXE through itch.

I didn't remember this at the time but the main reason we were using the air version still was because it allowed us to remotely push out updates to the users which we couldn't do through the exe. That logic obviously doesn't hold up in light of the fact that we're not actively working on the game anymore so we figured we might as well repackage along with the bug fixes we're working on. 

No specific ETA on the update release but it's in the works.

Love the game, it's super fun! however i was wondering if the game supports modding, and if not, if mod support is planned and or even possible for this game?

I'll get back to you on this but the answer was yes at one point. The project hasn't been in development for like 5 years so I (Golden Gear Alex) must talk to  the lead developer (Golden Gear Andrew) to track down the instructions on how to mod it.

What kind of changes were you looking to try out? Asset modding is probably as simple as redrawing the spritesheets. Functional modding is where I gotta talk to Andrew.

Yes! There are many ways to mod the game via the textfile definitions. We can offer some guidance if you give us an idea of that types of things you want to play with

mainly stuff like new content, new art assets and enemies, new areas, ect.

A lot of that you can do now by changing the config scripts and the spritesheets in the game folder. Please share any results or feel free to ask questions.

Sure, having it only as an Air release is... a strange decision, certainly not user-friendly, but I suppose it was meant for good reasons, and since you'll be pushing out an exe soon, it's moot.

Still, there's a difference between being user-unfriendly for development/workflow purposes, and for nefarious business practices, and the way you've been acting in this thread makes it extremely obvious that you're the former. 

I own the game on Steam and itch.io, so I have the luxury of playing without having to download Adobe Air, and the way you've responded to comments in this thread rekindled my interest in the game and put it on top of my "to play" pile.

thanks. The original reason for the air file was because it allowed us to push updates to the game directly via an automatic download feature that didn’t work for the exe. Since we’re likely only doing one more major update for this game and it’s been out for five years we decided to switch it to the exe for everyone so it’s easier for people to play.

I caught a few typos in the tutorial that I could send over, and the tutorial got stuck when I tried to place ships in Barnacles' presence; nothing worked and I couldn't deselect the ships nor access any menu buttons. Is the game still taking any further updates? This was a tutorial-breaker.


Hi! Sorry to hear that you ran into some troubles. Unfortunately the game is not currently slated for any updates but should that change we will review the areas you highlighted. 


I had the same problem. It really is game breaking- I want to play this! but the tutorial bug was incredibly frustrating

We've pulled the source code out of storage after 5 years and the lead developer is looking at a few bug fixes. I'll send these comments along and see what we can do.

I'm working on an AIR project myself. If you need to compile your game as an .exe file integrating AIR, so that your clients wouldn't need to install it, I could explain you how to do it.


iirc we left it as is for cross-platform compatibility between Mac and PC. Cheers.

Hi, Thanks for your patience. There's supposed to be an updated feature built into the game. Can you double check your current game version and see if it matches? If it does not we will look into this.

I bought the game a bit ago and then find it is not for Windows?  I have Windows 10, on which I would like to play it.

Try installing Adobe Air as it is a dependency for this game.

Hello, been playing this game on my Surface Pro 3 and I loved it!
This said, oddly enough, I cannot run it on my desktop PC? When I tried to boot it there, I only got a black screen :(

Still love the game and looking at some files structure, I wonder if the issue is not with the steam install of it so I'm considering whether buying this version for my desktop might not solve some issues.
